A fusion of the world’s best classic music and ultimate digital art.
“Yellow Lounge”, an event hosted by the best classic music brand label,
Deutsche Grammophon has arrived Japan.
Yellow Lounge hosted by the oldest label, Deutsche Grammophon from Europe will be held by the Japanese ultimate technologist group, “teamLab” at the “MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM: teamLab Borderless”, in celebration of Deutsche Grammphon’s 120th anniversary.
Established by Emil Berliner who invented the disc type record in 1898, Deutsche Grammophon is the highest regarded brand in the music world today.
Ozawa has left their master pieces, with the total sales of 10 billion units and 65 Grammy Awards.
Yellow Lounge event was started by Deutsche Grammophon in Frankfurt in February 2001, with the hope of audience to enjoy classic music in an urban and inviting atmosphere of clubs, LOWERING barriers for classical music enjoyment for younger demographics.
Some the greatest musicians that Deutsche Grammophon proudly present to the world, like the popular violinist in the classic world, Anne-Sophie Mutter and Seong Jin Cho, the winner of 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition are taking part in this event.
Yellow Lounge has been extremely successful in Amsterdam, London, New York and other US cities with tickets so hard to get will now come to Japan in their memorable 120th anniversary year.
The president of Deutsche Grammophone, Clemens Trautmann was considering a collaboration with Japanese culture for the event to be successfully held in Japan.
He approached teamLab who had done an excellent work at the Milan Expo and highly regarded in Europe. The event was finalized to do at the “Mori Building Digital Art Museum: teamLab Borderless”,
“At Deutsche Grammophon we are celebrating our 120th anniversary this year.
Preserving traditions, and always exploring innovative ideas has been in our history, ever since Emil Berliner invented the gramophone and founded the label in 1898.
Yellow Lounge was started with the objective to have people enjoy classic music in an urban and inviting atmosphere of clubs, lowering barriers for classical music enjoyment for younger demographics.
This format is enjoyed and supported in Europe and North America, and now it will start in Japan. We are grateful to present the Yellow Lounge series in Asia in partnership with VOLKSWAGEN GROUP.
We believe this is an extremely important start.
For this start we have asked a very popular artist collective in Japan called 【teamLab】 for our guests and audience to enjoy the great moments in music.
Collaborating the greatest digital artwork and great artists from Deutsche Grammophon, and Chihiro Yamanaka as a special guest, it will be a most unforgettable art experience.
We really hope everyone will enjoy this event.”
Clemens Trautmann proudly announce.
The artists who are going to appear at the Yellow Lounge is the label’s first Mix CD/tape DJ and a conductor Aoi Mizuno, who is studying conducting at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, and Alice Sara Otto who will be releasing her first album “Nightfall”, and the jazz pianist Chihiro Yamanaka, whom we are head over heels with, and released a classic album “Utopia”, this year, and the fabulous cellist, Mischa Maisky.
So the theme for the event is “the fusion of classic music, which is the best acoustic music and the ultimate digital art.”
This event will be an unforgettable experience where artists will be using GVIDO, the world’s first electric music sheet terminal manufactured in Japan.
So as the theme suggests, this will definitely be an event to experience the one and only classic music.
