Today, VAMPS(JPN), a Japanese rock band formed by and featuring HYDE (L’Arc~en~Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust), have released a brand new double A-side single, ‘AHEAD / REPLAY’, via Spinefarm Records! The tracks featured on this worldwide digital release are accompanied by the videos.
 

 
‘AHEAD’ is the tie-in single for the launch of Xperia UL, Sony’s new smartphone, whereas ‘Replay’ is the primary theme for ‘Dark Labyrinth’, the newest installment for the hit smartphone application game.
 
In the five years sinceVAMPS(JPN) first came together, they have released eight singles & two albums, as well as playing more than 250 gigs both in Japan and overseas, including shows in North & South America, Europe & Asia. In addition, the band’s second studio album, ‘BEAST’ (released on July 2010), ranked 4th on the South American charts – the first time a Japanese act has achieved such success!
 
VAMPS(JPN) have also revealed that they will be embarking on an extensive worldwide tour in 2013 in partnership with Live Nation; the tour will hit Europe in late September (Spain, France & Germany), then UK shores on October 7th when the band will headline the show at the O2 Academy in London. (an opening act will be confirmed shortly)

Live Viewing events – which will have live broadcasts from thecurrent ‘VAMPS LIVE 2013’ tour – have been announced to take place in 13 cities around the world, including in the US; the UK screening will happen at Rich Mix Cinema, Shoreditch, London on July 7th 2013 at 11am.
 
The best album, ‘SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL’, is set to be released in this fall, and for this career-spanning collectionVAMPS(JPN) are keen to define the band of today as much as the band of the past. The selected tracks will be re-recorded and re-mixed with the greater balance of English vocals added throughout. HYDE says, “This best album that we gave ourselves entirely to is for export VAMPS to the world.”  More details will be announced shortly.
