ニュアンス豊かなギューデンの珍しいレパートリー
オーストリア出身のリリック・ソプラノ歌手。地元の音楽院で学び、オペレッタのスターとしてキャリアを開始しウィーン・オペレッタ界のトップ・スターとなりましたが、1939年にチューリッヒ歌劇場でモーツァルトの『魔笛』に出演、オペラ歌手としてもデビューします。1941年にはクレメンス・クラウスの指揮でミュンヘン国立歌劇場に出演、大絶賛されます。イタリアではR.シュトラウスの作品を歌い、なめらかな美声と品のよい音楽性で聴衆を魅了しました。ギューデンの中でも珍しいレパートリーを歌ったもので、アイヴァー・ノヴェロはソングライター、劇作家、俳優、ピアニスト、プロデューサーとして活躍した人。またノエル・カワードも、イギリスの俳優で、作詞・作曲、映画監督もしたマルチタレントとして有名で、彼らの書いたオペレッタなどからのナンバーを、スタンリー・ブラックがバックを務めます。ボーナス・トラックとして、「This is my Vienna」と題されたアルバムから、ウィーンで愛されている曲が収録されています。
